About

The story behind the byline

How a determination to give ordinary people a voice grew into one of Maharashtra's recognised public-interest news titles.

Mohammed Sayeed Shaikh — known across newsrooms and press circles simply as MS Shaikh — is a journalist, editor and publisher whose career has been defined by a single idea: that journalism should serve the people it reports on. Born on 17 April 1989, he built his path in the media not through privilege, but through persistence, integrity and an unwillingness to look away from difficult stories.

His work sits at the intersection of crime reporting, human rights and civic accountability — the kind of journalism that asks uncomfortable questions and follows facts wherever they lead. Over the years, he has covered issues that many would rather leave untouched, always with the conviction that the public has a right to know.

"Journalism is not a profession of convenience. It is a responsibility to the truth and to the people who have no other voice."

Founding FAC News

That conviction took institutional shape in Dainik Fight Against Criminal (FAC News) — a news title he founded and continues to lead. Registered with the Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI No. MAHHIN/2016/71734) and published by Aspect Multimedia Pvt. Ltd., FAC News operates in both print and digital form, serving readers who seek reporting that is fearless and grounded in fact.

As Director and Authorised Signatory of Aspect Multimedia Pvt. Ltd., he oversees the editorial direction and operations of the publication from its office in Andheri West, Mumbai. Under his leadership, FAC News has grown a loyal readership and a reputation for standing with the public interest.

A record of service

Beyond the newsroom, Mohammed Sayeed Shaikh has been an active contributor to his community. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he was recognised repeatedly as a "Corona Warrior" for his humanitarian work — supporting relief efforts and standing with families in one of the most difficult periods in recent memory.

His contributions have been acknowledged through more than two dozen certificates, awards and appreciations from human rights councils, journalist associations, foundations and community organisations across Maharashtra and India. Each of these honours reflects the same principle that guides his reporting: service before self.

Recognition on the record

His identity and work are also documented publicly — including a dedicated Wikidata entry (Q141391022) — reflecting a career built openly and accountably in the public eye.

Today, Mohammed Sayeed Shaikh continues to report, publish and advocate — carrying forward a mission that began with one journalist's belief that the truth is worth fighting for.
